ATxSG 2026 Recap: AI, Connectivity, and Digital Transformation in Asia-Pacific

Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG) 2026 has wrapped up, bringing together global policymakers, technology executives, and innovators. This year’s event focused heavily on practical AI deployment, digital infrastructure governance, and the growing importance of multi-orbit connectivity architectures. This article highlights several key discussions from the conference that are shaping digital transformation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Southeast Asia’s Digital Shift

ATxEnterprise 2026’s central theme was Southeast Asia’s shift from AI experimentation to enterprise scale implementation across industries. The conference highlighted how AI is no longer limited to technology companies, with major growth in adoption from industries like logistics, healthcare, and retail. Governments, enterprises, and global technology companies focused discussions on practical AI implementation, workforce readiness, cyber resilience, and regional digital cooperation. Through initiatives supporting SMEs, enterprise AI adoption, and trusted digital infrastructure, Singapore positioned itself as a major hub spearheading this transformation.

The Future of Scalable Satellite Connectivity in Asia-Pacific

Terry Bleakley, VP of APAC Fixed Data Vertical at SES, explained in an interview that satellite connectivity is crucial for both advanced and developing markets due to the Asia-Pacific region’s diverse geography, economic development levels, and disaster risks. According to Bleakley, use cases range from enhancing digital inclusion and closing gaps in rural connectivity in countries like Indonesia and Sri Lanka to disaster recovery communications in countries like Japan. He also outlined the company’s shift from traditional, expensive satellite manufacturing models to a more modular and economical approach that uses high-power MEO satellites. As part of SES’s broader strategy to build a faster, more flexible, and multi-purpose satellite ecosystem for connectivity, government, and defense-related services, the planned constellation will feature scalable modular satellites, optical inter-satellite links, flexible payloads for commercial and sovereign applications, and global coverage capabilities.

Singapore Expands AI and Cybersecurity Push for Enterprises

At ATxEnterprise, Singapore announced a series of new initiatives to help business scale AI adoption securely while strengthening cyber resilience and digital infrastructure. The Infocomm Media Development Authority established partnerships with Grab and RSM Stone Forest IT to support SMEs with AI training, cybersecurity tools, and practical implementation guidance under the Digital Enterprise Blueprint as businesses move towards full deployment. Along with a new AI for Enterprises Impact Playbook, designed to help businesses navigate the AI transformation, the government also launched the inaugural SME AI Impact Awards to recognize businesses that are successfully using AI.
