Multi-Orbit Connectivity: Insights from Ben Griffin of Eutelsat OneWeb

In this episode of the Satellite World Briefing, host Lucas Hunsicker sat down with Ben Griffin, Vice President of Mobility Services for Eutelsat OneWeb, who sheds light on how low-Earth orbit satellites as part of a multi-orbit network are transforming IFC offerings.

Griffin spoke on the technical challenges and innovations that make multi-orbit IFC a reality and how the demand for seamless internet access soars among airline passengers, which makes the race is on to deliver fast, reliable, and global connectivity at 35,000 feet a challenge.

“The IFC evolution over the rest of this decade and probably beyond is more an evolution of Leo-Geo. It’s harnessing all the available technology and consolidating it into a service. Because after all, airlines and customers aren’t buying a Leo or Geo service, they’re buying a connectivity service.”
